Crawley Millennium CB seeks new MD

Date Uploaded: November 9, 2011

Can you "Strike up the Band"?

Crawley Millennium Concert Band requires a new Musical Director. Is that person you?

The band is looking for someone who has had some experience of directing a music ensemble, but who also has the enthusiasm and vision to take the band into the future.

The band was set up as part of Crawley town's Millennium celebrations and held its inaugural concert at the Hawth Theatre, Crawley on 15th January 2000. "Strike up the Band" was the title of one of the first concerts of Crawley Millennium Concert Band. Since then, the band has become a well-respected concert band, performing all over the South East in concert halls, bandstands and in the middle of fields! It has a membership of about 30 musicians, drawn from all sections of the local community. The band plays a wide range of music from its extensive music library, including show music, film music, marches, novelty pieces, selections, suites, overtures, rock and pop, jazz, and classics.

If you are interested in finding out how to be considered for this appointment, please contact cmcband@hotmail.com by 16th December 2011. In addition, if you want to find out more information about the band, including becoming a member, please visit the band's website:
